I've now been here for almost 4 years, and it keeps getting better and better. My career with Grameenphone has been both challenging and interesting. At First I started working on this Project (X); which was to design something totally new, first time in Bangladesh. Our team had to design, test, implement, execute the whole financial process of this product from scratch. Now we have a name for this product "BillPay" and we have launched almost 8 Companies under this brand- umbrella. The best part about my career with GP is that now I can say that I can sleep at night knowing that I am doing something good for my people.

If I had to list the things I enjoyed most about my work; I need to start with the Corporate Culture. The people here are friendly; honest and believe in the values of this company. Empowerment is another part of GP I enjoyed most. When we do the work with responsibility, accountability, honesty and sincerity, it is really an enjoyment. What one becomes out of such experiences is more important than what reward one gets. If I were to chose one word to describe Grameenphone that would be "Awesome"

Working for Telenor as a global company means opportunities to work in another country. My family and I decided to take this challenge, and we moved from Sweden February, 2010. What I enjoy most about my job at Grameenphone is that I truly believe I can make a difference in the world, by simply be part of providing a huge number of people with basic communication needs. Although our vision (we exist to help customers get the full benefit of communications services in their daily lives) throughout Telenor is the same it becomes so real at Grameenphone and Bangladesh when the mobile penetration is around 30% compared to roughly 120% in Sweden. Employees at Grameenphone have a drive to do exactly this – Help people. I can describe it with one word – PASSION! The rural initiatives we do to provide communication are good examples of this. Grameenphone is a very strong brand in Bangladesh, which enables us to succeed with the vision of helping people. Another part of my work that I enjoy very much is working with leadership and to see other people grow. Leadership and performance is something Grameenphone puts very high on the agenda. My job is a lot about Make it Easy and Inspire, both for customers and employees. I Love it!

Grameenphone, the leading telecommunication company of Bangladesh is the dream workplace of many people in this country. Even though I am a part-time employee of this giant telecom company, I have never been deprived of any benefits that I am supposed to get and I have also been able to work for different units to enhance my expertise over various issues. The work environment is very friendly and all the people around are very smiling and welcoming. The helping attitude of every employee makes it possible to work as a TEAM and achieve the company's mission and vision together.We have the free flow of information to provide quality service to the stakeholders and it also helps us to ensure our career objectives.

A typical office day of mine combines all the values of Grameenphone and, as I am able to interact with the customers quite directly, I can feel that they are really satisfied and happy to use our product and services and they do appreciate us when they see us in the front line in coming up with the innovative offerings. The core values of Grameenphone are unique to satisfy and encourage the people who are associated with it. If I am asked to say one thing about this organization than I would definitely say that, it is 'Dynamic'.

I joined Grameenphone in 2006 and was attracted by its innovate solutions for Bangladesh to make people closer to each other. Grameenphone gave me the freedom to choose my own career path. It provided me with opportunities where I could learn and nurture my leadership capabilities. I am empowered and supported tremendously to reach to the full potential. GP provides a learning ground and I believe that is the beauty of this organization. It is very customer centric, continuous improvement is key and passion for business is integral part of our everyday life. GP house complements our way of work, the distance between a senior manager and an employee is minimal, decision making is faster and we believe in team work. GP fosters environment that allows women to play the role of a mother as well as a competent professional making it conducive to balance between work and life.

We call it living the GP WAY. It means we are respectful to each other, we do things that are inspiring, we keep our promises and in the process we make things easy for others. We are built around people and in time of need for any employee's hardship we get united and stand beside our employee and that is the differentiating factor about GP people. I have joined Grameenphone as an intern because I believe it offers the finest opportunities that a person can ask for. It is the place where one can not only utilize his or her academic skills in the best possible manner but also gets the chance where one can nurture his/her skills and develop cognitively.

The open work space concept is very unique and elating. This concept makes communication easier. I can easily talk with people from other divisions or anyone from the top level management. Apart from this, everyone at Grameenphone is very welcoming and amiable. The organizational culture is very much open to different nationalities, religious views, creeds and classes.

I am given the task to establish contact with different private universities in order to organize on campus recruitment program. I am also working on HR intelligence where I came across a vast amount of resumes. As an intern I am having hands-on experience which I believe is going to help in the future. I am looking forward to work longer for Grameenphone and enjoy the magic of closeness.

Working in Grameenphone has been a fascinating experience for me. As part of Operations, Technology, I have got the exposure to state-of-the-art technologies. In addition to that, the chance to work with very competent colleagues, the opportunity to work with multiple globally acclaimed organizations in telecommunication arena, and training opportunities, both in-house and abroad, have made it a unique learning experience.

In Grameenphone, it's more like being in one big happy family, a family that sets world class standards and knows how to turn the vision into reality, how to take challenges with a positive and dynamic mindset and how to keep on winning as a cohesive unit. The rich organizational culture, the inspiring values, and the cordial guidance from the dynamic management team have created a unique way of work - the GPWAY.

I believe, a successful career, in the true sense of the term, is not just about working.
