Grameenphone Ltd. has distributed 10,000 blankets among the disadvantaged people with the help of Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BRCS).
Considering the hardship of marginal people in cold wave hit areas the company has decided to distribute blankets among the most affected people under its Sustainable Initiative activities. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society started to distributing these blankets since January 20, 2018, in 27 Districts around the country.
The blankets were distributed by regional members of BRCS in Barguna, Barisal, Bhola, Jhalokati, Patuakhali, Chittagong, Comilla, Feni, Lakshmipur, Noakhali, Sherpur, Bagerhat, Chuadanga, Jhenaidah, Meherpur, Satkhira, Naogaon, Natore, Pabna, Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Gaibandha, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari, Panchagarh, Rangpur and Thakurgaon district.
Grameenphone as a socially responsible company always extends its hand to support the people in need. Last year the company distributed relief amounting BDT 10 crore among the flood victims besides supporting the victims of Cyclone Mora, a landslide in CHT and flash flood at Sylhet.
