Top start-up from Bangladesh to participates in Echelon Asia Summit 2018

Cramstack, will be participating from Bangladesh in upcoming Echelon Asia Summit 2018 in June. Whiteboard, a digital innovation enabling initiative by Grameenphone has collaborated with ‘E-27’ for the local qualifier round of ‘Top 100 APAC 2018’ international summit to facilitate the startups of Bangladesh for this global opportunity. To select the Bangladeshi qualifiers, Whiteboard has arranged a pitching round on April 10, 2018 where 15 Bangladeshi startups pitched in front of the industry experts. The event was held at GP House, Bashundhora R/A.

Cramstack, won the ticket to the global summit as the Judge’s Favorite and Bankcompare BD was recognized as the Fan Favorite startup in the round.

Cramstack operates a business intelligence platform that allows businesses to search, analyze, and collaborate data.

Bankcompare bd is an aggregator of all the bank services which benefits a user to find the best bank service among all.

After the pitching round featuring their business ideas and relevant analysis, top startups were selected by the judges though a rigorous scrutiny. Solaiman Alam Head of Digital, Grameenphone Ltd., Tina Jabeen (Investment Advisor, Startup Bangladesh, ICT Division), Minhaz uddin Anwar (Head of GPAccelerator, GPAccelerator), Fayaz Taher (Co-Founder, Startup Dhaka), Masa Isono, (Principal at Defta Partner)  and Mustafizur Khan (Co-founder and CEO, Startup Dhaka) were present as esteemed judges.

In this round, only one startup was given the ticket to the global summit. The rest of the tickets will be distributed among the startups based on available slots for the country from E-27.

E-27 is a global platform for startups for news, community, events, funding and more for the startup ecosystem.

‘Top 100 APAC 2018’ is a program that empowers early-stage startups in Asia. This program is a part of Echelon Asia Summit 2018. It will be hosted in Singapore Echelon Asia Summit 2018 in June, 2018. The startups will get the opportunity to get monthly online insights from industry experts on different topics covering fundraising to building company culture, get to meet and mingle the regional investors, corporates and other startup founders, explore the startup scene at Singapore, get connected with investors from all over Asia Pacific. 

The participating startups were: Amar Uddog ltd, Appbazar, Avijatrik, Bankcompare, Barikoi, Cramstack, Doctorkoi, Garbageman, Khujun.com, Let’s Learn Coding, Meditor, Skillod, Maetorological & related service, Shongi and Team Reboot.

Michael Foley, CEO of Grameenphone shared his thoughts on Grameenphone White-Board’s Partnership with E27 during the event, “What we have done here today is a something we do frequently. We do this for two reasons, we want to help build the ecosystem for entrepreneurship and innovation in Bangladesh particularly in Dhaka.  We want to be the center of this exercise. We also do this because it changes the nature of our company, it changes our culture it changes the way we do things.
