Since inception, Grameenphone has actively supported distressed people during any disaster. Grameenphone extended support for SIDR victims, AILA victims, victims of Rana Plaza collapse, landslide victims etc. Grameenphone also supported cold wave victims at different occasions.
In 2017 during the country wide flood, Grameenphone extended its support through Bangladesh Red Crescent Society to provide clean drinking water, relief, and medical consultation with free medicine. This particular intervention alone supported more than 300,000 individuals in 31 districts across the country. In January 2018 Grameenphone extended support to victims of the cold wave which impacted around 10,000 people in the northern and southern districts of the country.
