The 10th Grameenphone President Cup Golf Tournament 2011 (Pro-Am) held at the Kurmitola Golf Club (KGC) on 5th and 6th of May 2011.

General Md Abdul Mubeen, ndc, psc, Chief of Army Staff and President, Kurmitola Golf Club was the Chief Guest at the official Tee-off session.  Tore Johnsen, CEO of Grameenphone was the Special Guest on the occasion. Kazi Monirul Kabir, Chief Communications Officer of Grameenphone was also present on the occasion.

Around 600 local and expatriate members of the club and other golfers took part in this prestigious golf tournament.

In the armature part of the tournament Major Arman Ali Bhuiyan and in the professional part Moti Mohammad won the title. The winners were awarded in a gala ceremony on May 7, 2011. Chief of Army Staff and Grameenphone CEO handed over the prizes.

Grameenphone has been sponsoring the President Cup Golf Tournament from the very beginning. Apart from President Cup Golf Tournament, we also sponsored golf tournaments in Savar Golf Club and Bhatiary Golf Club, Chittagong. Early this year Grameenphone sponsored the first Asian Development Tour in Bangladesh.

Grameenphone has always been a major patron of sports in the country and is the official sponsor of the Men's and Women's National Cricket Team. Grameenphone is also associated with Special Olympics Bangladesh since 2007. Currently both organizations are jointly running a nationwide talent hunt program for next Special Olympics in 2011.
