Miles- the pioneering rock and pop band of Bangladesh celebrated 30 years of their musical journey by performing at a mega concert organized by Grameenphone on Friday at Hotel Ruposhi Bangla.

The grand event started off with the screening of a nostalgic AV showcasing the glorious 30 years journey of the band in the music industry. Afterwards, there was a minute of silence in remembrance of the famous former member of Miles Happy Akhand, post which the mega concert kicked off with the original tunes of Miles.

Former band members of Miles Farid Rashid, Kamal Mainuddin and Ishiaque along with a special guest Babu enthralled the audience with their performances. Afterwards, the crowd grooved away to the popular tracks of Hamin Ahmed, Shafin Ahmed, Manam Ahmed, Mahboob and Farid from the 80s.

The current Miles members also set the stage on fire by playing their latest tracks along with Mithun on the percussions and Steve on the saxophone.

Apart from featuring an extended line-up of music from them, local leading bands of the country Warfaze, Feedback, Fuad & friends, Aurthohin and Kranti rocked the stage as well and paid tribute to this great rock band.

Bikram Ghosh, Grammy Award winning percussionist from India and Mekaal Hasan, eminent musician from Pakistan also mesmerized the audience with their soulful and melodious tunes.

The band members of Miles were extremely ecstatic and excited about their 30 year celebration. Lead vocalist of Miles Shafin Ahmed said, “It has been an amazing journey so far. We are truly grateful to our fans for staying with us for the last 30 years. Their support has made this possible for us.”

The program ended on a high note as all the artists took the stage and sang in unison the famous song of Miles.

In 2011 Miles digitally released their new album titled “Proticchobi” in collaboration with Grameenphone. The five songs of their album were available exclusively for the Grameenphone subscribers as a Value Added Service (VAS) like welcome tune, full track download, music radio amongst many others through the Grameenphone Music Platform.
