Grameenphone launches GP-branded handset

The “Grameenphone V100” handset was unveiled at a launching ceremony today, Monday, 31 August 2009, at a local hotel. The launch of the handset is a yet another initiative by GP to deliver added benefits to customers.
Grameenphone CEO, Oddvar Hesjedal, unveiled the phone at the launching event. Grameenphone's Acting CMO, Mr. Lazlo Barta and Head of Market Communications Kazi Monirul Kabir were present with other high officials of GP. Distinguished guests from all the top corporate houses of the country were also present during the launching ceremony.
The handset, priced at a very affordable price of BDT.3199, comes with a camera, FM radio and internet browsing facilities. The phone also has an inbuilt ‘GP menu’ which lists all the attractive VAS services of GP in a single menu. The handset has a color display and has the language option for both Bengali and English.
In addition, if any existing GP subscriber uses his or her GP connection with this GP-branded hand set, he or she will get BDT 250 talk-time free, 10 Megabyte of free internet browsing, 120 Voice SMS, and 60 MMS free (conditions apply).
The GP-branded handset comes with the reliability of the Grameenphone brand and a 1 year warranty. GP ensures the after sales services through more than 500 touch points across the country. The after sales service for this handset is going to be largest of its kind in Bangladesh.
