Concerned over the prevalent cold weather, Grameenphone Ltd. has started distributing blankets in Northern Bangladesh from January 7, 2011.

Under the initiative, Grameenphone is distributing 8,500 blankets in 14 districts of Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions, namely, Rajshahi, Chapainawabganj, Sirajganj, Joypurhat, Naogaon, Pabna, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Gaibandha, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Thakurgaon and Panchagarh. The blankets are being distributed with the help of local administration.
