Grameenphone's 15th AGM held
The 15th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Grameenphone Ltd. was concluded successfully at the Bangabandhu International Convention Center (BICC) today, April 10, 2012, amidst huge participation from the shareholders.
Chairman of Grameenphone Board Sigve Brekke and CEO Tore Johnsen were present on the occasion along with the other Board members, and senior officials of the company. The AGM was conducted by the Company Secretary, Hossain Sadat.
The Chairman thanked the shareholders for their trust on the company and briefly talked about growth potential in Bangladesh telecom sector, regulatory uncertainties, 2G license renewal, 3G etc., while the CEO mainly highlighted the operational & financial performance of the company in their respective speeches.
GP has paid 140% Interim Dividend (Cash) during 2011. The Board of Directors also recommended 65% Final Dividend (Cash) making a total dividend of 205% of the paid-up capital (i.e. BDT 20.5 per share) for the year 2011. The shareholders approved the above total dividend for the year 2011. The other activities of the AGM were adoption of the Directors’ report and the Audited Financial report for 2011, election/ re-election of the Directors and appointment of Auditors.
It was the 3rd AGM of the company after it becomes a listed company in 2009.
