Siddikur Rahman, the first professional golfer of Bangladesh is leaving Dhaka on Saturday to participate in ISPS HANDA World Cup Golf tournament that will be held in Melbourne, Australia. 

This is the first time a Bangladeshi Golfer is taking part in golf World Cup. Siddikur is among 13 Asian players who have been qualified for the world cup this year.

Grameenphone the official sponsor of Siddikur Rahman with the participation of Kurmitola Golf Club (KGC) arranged a press conference to bid him farewell.  Golfer Siddikur, Tahmeed Azizul Huq, Head of Corporate Communications of Grameenphone and Brigadier General Abidur Reza Khan (Retired), Chairman, Tournament Committee, Kurmitola Golf Club were present on the occasion.

Siddikur became the first Bangladeshi man to win on the Asian Tour at the 2010 Brunei Open and  has since established himself by finishing in the top-10 of the Order of Merit in 2010 and 2011 and 17th last season.
