The 14th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Grameenphone Ltd. was concluded successfully at the Bangabandhu International Convention Center (BICC) today, April 19, 2011, amidst huge participation from the shareholders.

Chairman of Grameenphone Board Sigve Brekke and CEO Tore Johnsen were present on the occasion along with the other Board members, and senior officials of the company. Company Secretary, Hossain Sadat conducted the AGM with the permission of the Chairman.

The Chairman thanked the shareholders for their trust on the company, while the CEO highlighted the operational performance of the company in their respective speeches.  

The shareholders approved the final cash dividend @ 85% of the paid-up capital for the year ended on December 31, 2010 as recommended by the Board of Directors. The other activities of the AGM were adoption of the Directors’ report and the Audited Financial report for 2009, election/ re-election of the Directors and appointment of Auditors. There was a special business agenda on the amendment of the articles of the Company, which was also approved by the shareholders. 

It was the 2nd AGM of the company after it becomes a listed company in 2009. Special security arrangements were in place to ensure security of the shareholders.
