The Bomang dynasty established in 1822 has been organizing this festival since 1875. According to traditions, indigenous men mostly “jum” farmers pay annual taxes to their respective headmen and traditional leaders. The funds are then accumulated and officially offered to the Bomang Chief Circle (the King) during Rajpunnah by the headmen and traditional leaders.

Grameenphone has been supporting this program for since 2010, this is the third time the company is sponsoring the program as a part of its effort to promote local culture.
