Grameenphone organizes Corporate Discussion on enhancing Women Empowerment

On the occasion of the International Women's Day Grameenphone Ltd. has organized a corporate discussion on March 8, 2011. The theme of the discussion was “Towards an empowering culture for corporate women” and the initiative had many folded intentions.
 
Grameenphone took a stride to create a platform where representatives from different corporate organizations came together to share, discuss and learn the initiatives each organization takes to empower the professional females. This platform also expected to assist in building an effective environment for communication among the corporate world, academic institutions and other relevant sectors. The discussion brought forth the issues that exist in the corporate community when it comes to creating a culture that supports talented female performers.
 
Formed Advisor to the Caretaker Govt. Ms. Rasheda K Chowdhury and Gitiara Safia Chowdhury along with leading professionals from GPIT, HSBC, Unilever, BAT, GSK, Lafarge, Rahimafrooz, Prothom Alo, Robi and Airtel took part in the discussion. Also present at the event, who participated in the discussion, were representatives from the leadership roles of North South University, American International University – Bangladesh, Institute of Business Administration – University of Dhaka and BRAC University.

The initiative was a stepping stone to create a better corporate cultural values, performance and talent for female professionals.
