Aug 16 2015

Grameenphone Ltd. launched Easy Net, an easy solution process that will build internet awareness among unconnected customers.

Easy Net will allow customers to learn about the internet through video tutorials, try free internet sites for themselves and buy small data packages, all without an existing data subscription.

While presenting the concept to the media Grameenphone's Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Yasir Azman, said, “Easy Net will help our customers learn about the internet and harness the power of knowledge to move ahead in their lives.”

Customers with a feature /smartphone have to dial *5000*55# to receive a micro site link from which they may watch a video tutorial on the basic ‘what’ and the ‘how’ of the internet. Upon learning about the internet, users can browse through selected zero rated sites such as Facebook, Wikipedia, and others for free to experience the internet for themselves.

Customers can also buy small internet packages through the link for future use.

Grameenphone CMO also said, “This solution is another indication of our commitment to provide Internet for All. Lack of awareness on Internet is a significant barrier for the spread of data services and we believe that Easy Net will help us to significantly reduce this barrier.

Grameenphone has an ambition to provide ‘Internet for All’ in Bangladesh. The company has covered the whole country with its network and has been aggressively rolling out 3G services.
